Point of View has updated its ProTab line of tablets with two new and quite impressive models, the 10-inch ProTab 3 XXL IPS and the 9.7-inch ProTab 3 IPS. As you could have guessed from the name, both tablets use a high quality IPS panel and run on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

The 10-inch ProTab 3 XXL and the 9.7-inch ProTab 3 IPS share many similar specs including the Rockchip RK3066 dual-core Cortex A9 clocked at 1.6GHz and paired up with quad-core Mali 400 GPU usually clocked at 250MHz (this one supports 1080p video decoding), 1GB of DDR3 RAM memory, 8 or 16GB of storage with a microSD card slot for up to 32GB of additional storage. A 0.3MP front and 2.0MP rear camera and 802.11bgn WiFi are also on board.

The POV 9.7-inch ProTab 3 IPS measures 241x186x10mm and weighs 590g. As noted earlier, the 9.7-inch capacitive 10-point touch screen uses a high quality IPS panel and has a 1024x768 resolution. It, of course, runs of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and has a 8000mAh battery. On the other hand, the POV 10-inch ProTab 3 XXL IPS has 263x174x10.5mm dimensions, weighs 700g and features a 10-inch capacitive 10-point touch IPS panel screen with 1280x800 resolution. It also runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS but has a somewhat smaller 7200mAh battery.

Both new tablets should be available across Europe in the next few weeks. Point of View did not share any details regarding the price in its official press release, since it will most likely vary across the region, but we manage to find out that you can expect the 10-inch ProTab 3 XXL IPS to sell at around €249 while the 9.7-inch ProTab 3 IPS is going to be a tad more expensive at €259. The prices do not sound too steep considering that you get a bit more screen size when compared to the €199 Google Nexus 7.
